Can you imagine losing one of the world’s most incredible environments for the benefit of the earth-exploiting mining industry? The Kimberley coast, in particular, is one of the most spectacular and least impacted marine environments in the world. The marine features of the Kimberley coast compare to the Great Barrier Reef in its significance and value and should be conserved for generations to come. The Kimberley coast’s clean seas, outstanding islands, coral reefs and bays are home to thousands of diverse wildlife including Humpback whales and Dugong, five spectacular species of turtle, crocodiles, the rare Snubfin dolphins and a coral reef system you won’t find anywhere else on Earth. The Kimberley coast also has inexplicable cultural significance for local Indigenous people and its destruction would not only destroy thousands of marine life but aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander culture as well.

As you may know, Australia's beautiful Kimberley region was under threat by a proposed gas hub to be built in the Kimberley coast at James Price Point. Even with the constant and ever growing support of the Premier of Western Australia due to short-term economic benefits of the project, ongoing protests from organisations such as The Wilderness Society and public disapproval helped cause Woodside and its partners to cancel the onshore gas hub!!
Check out this link with facts about the proposed gas precinct:

We, together as sustainable citizens of this planet, can protect the environment from devastating projects proposed by mining companies such as Woodside in the future and create jobs through investments in industries that are not environmentally destructive in this region. With your support, the entire Kimberley region and all its beauty and wonder can be protected for many generations to come. Imagine having to tell your grand children that the vast natural wonders and thousands of species of the Kimberley were lost because of your laziness?
It is proposed that the Western Australian state government should illegalise onshore mining on the coast of the world's last great wilderness, the Kimberley region of north-west Australia
